About me
Brian de Brit is a lecturer in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Technological University Dublin. He holds a B.Sc. in Mathematical Physics (University College Dublin), an M.Phil. in Music and Media Technologies (Trinity College Dublin), and a Master of Engineering in Electronic Systems (Dublin City University). He is currently undertaking a PhD at TU Dublin in the area of acoustics, virtual microphone arrays, and audio DSP, with a focus on spatial audio and adaptive correction systems for live sound environments.Brian has over 15 years of industry experience in audio and embedded DSP, having worked in senior roles with DTS (Xperi), Void Acoustics, Holoplot, PreSonus, and others. His contributions include real-time DSP algorithm development, spatial rendering systems, fixed-point optimisation, and embedded DSP software architecture on platforms such as Sharc and Texas Instruments. His research explores advanced techniques for virtual microphone signal reconstruction, FIR-based room correction, and scalable beamforming for immersive and live sound applications.
